Very Nice - 1998 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
By acnoogs - September 9 - 10:00 amSimply, it runs like a dream. For a car not built for performance, it performs. And what a comfort it is to drive in this one. A little boxy, but otherwise a stylish car.

Too Soon Gone but Not Forgotten - 1996 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
By Edward L. Kowalski - September 7 - 10:00 amI like the car, used it mostly for work as a salesman. Didnt have a lot of problems over the years. Id buy another if they were still being made. Probably should have purchased a new one prior to its phase out but could not justify selling a perfectly good automobile.

50th Anniversary Edition - 1999 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
By Susan - November 30 - 5:26 pmI love this car. The only problem Ive had - and it was big - was when a gasket leak took out the engine about a year ago. It appears to be a known problem - but they gave me little relief. One drawback is that the back seat does not have headrests. The drivers seat leather is splitting. But I love the look of this car and its comfort. Its hard to find a vehicle as nice for its price. Im at 108,000 miles now and hoping for many more.

Most Reliable Vehicle I Have Ever Owned in 32 Years - 1999 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
By alienrealtor - July 27 - 5:26 pmIn my eyes its good looking, my kids are not thrilled about its appearance though. It has been a good and very reliable friend. It does not require much maintenance or repair. I have 112,000 miles on it and its still very solid. Obviously it is not a good idea to sell it, you wont be paid much for it and the clear coat is still shiny, so why bother. Its paid for and the insurance is peanuts on it. This Anniversary Edition has every luxury option and they all work fine! If you find one, dont hesitate to buy it. Its a very nice vehicle. Oil changes every 3,000 miles are a must, Synthetic oil will give you about 30 MPG on the highway, every so often go for the high octane gas that has cleaners (BP Gold, Chevron 93 or Shell 93).

Love My `98 `88LS - 1998 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
By Jobuck1 - July 18 - 3:56 pmI bought this car used last year from a dealership and they put me in touch with the previous owner. Luckily he was an older fellow who had bought the car new and had taken excellent care of it. All the servicing done on time, and logged in the owners manual. I was able to pick right up where he left off. About once a month I make a trip up through the Ozark mountains on a twisting, up and down highway and I love the way the car handles and performs. I think that 3.8L is one of the better motors ever manufactured. Plenty of power and and decent gas mileage. I get around 19mpg in town and 26mpg on the highway. All in all Ive been very satisfied with this car.

A Good Solid Lux Automobile - 1998 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
By Robbed718 - June 12 - 3:23 pmI bought this car about a week ago now with 54,000 miles on it. It was from a little old lady who lost her vision and the car was rarely used. I bought it and brought it to the mechanic. Apparently the V5 A/C Compressors on this car are horrible. It is making a sound when the belt turns but I ordered one online for only 200 bucks (Mechanics shop wants $450 just for the compressor) I heard these are great cars esp with the 3800 thats why I bought it. I plan on keeping it a while, it drives beautifully. Very Comfortable, decent gas mileage and fun to drive. Its basically like driving a big leather couch with lots of power. Overall I am very happy so far and it is worth the money

I love this car! - 1999 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
By susan - July 1 - 5:53 amI also hate that GM did not cover my expensive gasket problem when it happened in 2005 with just under 90,000 miles on it. Now have 141,000 miles and it has a few minor things wrong with it that I wont bother to fix - but I do love driving it. Also had problems with splitting leather problems the last 5 years. Somehow that hasnt held me back and I wish I could find another like it!

Not just Grandmas car - 1999 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
By Wiccabeauty - October 9 - 7:00 pmI am buying this car from my mom which whom she bought from Murray Equipment TSC for 1100.00. It is a champaigne color and has 154,150. Big car but it something like the Impala and Old Luminas on the interior. I like this car a lot but would love to have my old Lumina back.
